Exams for a Precise Fit
Contact lenses are a medical device. Because they are worn directly on the eye, a precise fit is important not only for your comfort but also for your eye health.
Our contact lens exams include thorough measurements of your prescription and the curvature of your eye for clear, comfortable vision.
Types of Contact Lenses We Offer
Depending on your prescription, different lenses may suit your visual needs better than others. For example, individuals with astigmatism may find toric lenses provide them with clearer vision than standard contact lenses.
During your contact lens exam, we’ll discuss your vision, lifestyle, and preferences. We may recommend trying a new style of lenses than your usual type, if we think they may improve your visual clarity and comfort.
We also provide fittings for coloured or tinted contact lenses for cosmetic purposes. It’s important to get a proper fit and to choose a reputable brand, even for costume lenses. Poor-quality lenses can cause damage to your eyes even if worn for a short period of time.
Soft contact lenses are made of a very flexible material designed for comfort and clear vision. We offer different varieties of soft contact lenses, including disposable lenses, which include daily, bi-weekly, and monthly lenses (referring to the frequency at which you replace the lenses).
Soft contact lenses are often recommended for first-time contact lens wearers, as they are typically easier to adjust to.
RGP lenses are made of a less flexible material that provides crisp vision and supports oxygen flow to the eye. RGP lenses have a long life span, lasting up to a year or more in many cases.
RGP lenses can take longer to adjust to, especially if you’re used to the feeling of soft contacts.
Multifocal contact lenses have multiple prescription powers in a single contact lens. They are used for individuals with presbyopia, or age-related farsightedness, to provide clear vision at near, intermediate, and far distances.
Multifocal contact lenses eliminate the need for reading glasses.
We offer multifocal contact lenses in soft contact lens styles.
Toric contact lenses are specially designed contacts made for individuals with astigmatism. Individuals with astigmatism have a cornea or lens that is curved in a way that affects their visual clarity, causing differences between the vertical and horizontal planes.
Toric contact lenses are shaped in a way that corrects astigmatism, as well as nearsightedness or farsightedness. They can be made for both single vision and multifocal prescriptions.
Coloured or tinted contact lenses, also referred to as costume contacts, are worn for cosmetic purposes. They can change the look and colour of your eyes, whether just for fun or to match a costume or character design.
Coloured contact lenses should be fitted by an optometrist to prevent possible damage to your eye’s surface from an improper fit. We can provide both prescription and non-prescription options.
Contact Lenses for Kids
With the proper support and training, kids can wear contact lenses too. We fit children for contact lenses when they are ready and interested in making the switch from glasses.
Additionally, we offer myopia control contact lenses as an option for your child’s myopia management plan. These soft contact lenses are specially designed to slow the progression of childhood myopia (nearsightedness), preserving your child’s vision.
There is no specific age when children are ready for contact lenses. Each child is unique, and being ready to take on the responsibility of contact lenses is tied more to their personality and readiness to clean and care for the lenses properly.
If your child is interested in trying contact lenses, let us know. Our optometrists can facilitate a discussion with you and your child, explaining the responsibilities of contact lens wear and helping you decide if your child is ready.
Caring for Contacts
Contact lenses require more care and attention than glasses. If you wear reusable contact lenses, you’ll need to properly clean and store your contact lenses overnight. Maintaining proper hygiene can prevent serious infections that can be associated with contact lens wear.
During your fitting, you’ll receive one-on-one instruction on how to insert, remove, clean, and care for your contact lenses. Your fitting includes an assessment of vision and fit with the doctor before you take your contact lenses home. We’ll schedule a follow-up appointment in about 2 weeks to see how your new contact lenses are feeling.

I have been seeing Dr Leblanc for years and now bring my son to see him as well. He is such a pleasure to deal with and although we only see him yearly, he remembers what’s going on in our lives and asks questions. He’s the best!
The reception staff are great as well!
– Trina
I’ve been going here for years. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. I especially find they answer all my questions and any concerns that I may have regarding eye care or even the right lenses to choose from. It’s always a pleasure to go there whether replacing my out dated frames or purchasing new frames and lenses for my eye care. They always inform me of specials too so I can add an additional option if desired.

We drove from London for our appointment because they had my fiancé’s files. It was very worth the drive there. They were thorough, professional and friendly. We are very happy with our visit and look forward to returning soon to pick up the four new pairs of glasses!
Thank you to all the staff, Dmytro and Marlene
